Updating u-blox's firmware

This document describes the procedure of updating your u-blox GNSS module firmware

Download the firmware .bin file

Depending on your u-blox product reference (X20P or F20P), click on one of the links below:

1. X20P firmware: https://www.u-blox.com/en/product/zed-x20p-module?legacy=Current#Documentation-&-resources

2. F20P firmware: https://www.u-blox.com/en/product/zed-f20p-module?legacy=Current#Documentation-&-resources

Next, scroll down to the "Firmware update" section and download the latest firmware file available (at the time of writing, the latest version of the F20P firmware is 2.02).

Connect your device via USB or UART1

In order to flash the new firmware, your device must be connected to a laptop using either USB or the UART port.

1. Over USB, a simple USB-C cable can be used

2. Over UART, a USB to UART transceiver (FTDI) is therefore required

For convenience, USB is the preferred solution

Open u-center2 and click on "Data sources" (left panel)

Click on the "+" icon to Add a data source

Select the COM port corresponding to your device then click "Add device"
